Goddess Saraswati

Goddess Saraswati is the Goddess of Speech and Knowledge, She is the symbol of learning vedas,musical power,dancing and scriptures. She has given man the power to speak and write. There is also a river on her name in Northern India which provides life to many living beings,It is also called Vedic river. She is the symbol of fortune ,wisdom,nourishment,intelligence,brilliance and devotion.
She is the divine consort of Lord Brahma who is the first of the Hindu trinity and creator of the world.

Birth of Goddess Saraswati and her Marriage to Vishnu :

Once Lord Krishna felt angry with and sprang from him Radha, In their union an egg called Mundane was produced. Which Radha threw Mundane in waters. Krishna was more angry seeing this and cursed Radha. Then Radha herself divided from her came Goddess Saraswati wearing yellow dress with veena in her hands. Then Krishna also parted himself to Vishnu. Then Krishna gave Saraswati to Vishnu as his wife.
Lord Vishnu also married Ganga,one day Goddess saraswati and Goddess Ganga had a fight between them which angered Lord Vishnu then cursed Goddess Ganga and Goddess Saraswati in to rivers and gave them to Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma.
Goddess Saraswati is also known in many other religions outside Hinduism, She is also seen in Jainism and Buddhism and also made her way from India to Japan.

Goddess Parvati

Lord Shiva's consort is Goddess Parvati, After the death of his first wife Sati, Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati who was born to the king of mountains 'Himavan'.
Goddess Parvati is the mother of Lord Kartikeya and Lord Ganesha. They are often seen in a single photo in many Hindu households as a beautiful family.
Goddess Parvati has many names like Durga,Uma,Kali,Gauri,Ambika,Lalitha ans Amba. There are a total of 108 names to her.

After the death of Sati, Lord Shiva was greatly depresses and retreated in to a cave in Himalayas for meditation.
During these troubled times the Demons(Asuras) decided to attack Gods(Devas) living in heaven.Lord Indra along with other Gods were driven out of Heaven. Later they went to seek some help from Lord Shiva at mount kailash to defeat the Demons, but the gods couldn't find Lord Shiva.

In disappointment they went to Goddess Shakti and asked her for help. Then Goddess told them that only son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati can defeat the demons, She also told them that Goddess Parvati will be a reincarnation of Sati and she only can persuade Lord Shiva to come out of cave.

Later as Goddess Shakti said Parvati was born to king of the mountains and from her younger age she wanted to win the Love and affection of Lord Shiva with this intention in her heart, She visited his cave where he was meditating every day.

Daily Parvati would clean the cave where Lord Shiva is meditating and decorate the cave with fresh and beautiful flowers. She also used to bring fruits that are found near the cave, However all of her devotion towards Lord Shiva did not soften his heart as he continued with his meditation.

Parvati was disappointed and did not give up trying to win the love of Lord Shiva. She decided to do a tough penance to win her Love towards Lord Shiva, She went to a forest and started the penance.

During the penance she was stable without food day and night irrespective of weather  there was hot sun or pouring rain.Lord Brahma was pleased with her penance and appeared before her to grant her the wish she wanted.
She wanted him to fulfil her wish of becoming beautiful and win the love of Lord Shiva,As she wished Lord Brahma fulfilled her wish. Later she appeared before Lord Shiva who was mesmerised by her beauty and he immediately fell in Love and decided to marry her.

Goddess Laxmi

Goddess Lakshmi rules the wealth along with success, which means she is the Goddess of wealth and success and also prosperity. She is often seen in several different colours such as pink,gold and white.The pink colour defines she is divine mother, Gold colour defines universal shakti and white colour defines mother earth.
She is the consort of Lord Vishnu, who is known as the god of  preservation, She resembles health and beauty.She possesses all the Nobel qualities, she resembles infinite wealth which also symbolises good and noble qualities.
Goddess Lakshmi is often seen sitting or standing on a lotus with gold coins flowing in an endless stream from her hands.The Lotus which blossoms represents good and noble qualities.

Birth Of Goddess Lakshmi :

When Devas and Asuras begin to churn the milky ocean to get the nectar. They started churning by threading the serpent Vasuki around the mountain Mandara and lord Vishnu took an incarnation of Kurma(Tortoise) to support the mountain on him.During the churning process, so that the mountain won't sink to the ocean bed. In the process of churning the Goddess Lakshmi appeared at first and she choose Lord Vishnu as her husband.Later in the churning process they received Nectar and fourteen other treasures.Lord Vishnu took Goddess Lakshmi along with him. When each time Lord Vishnu takes an avatar, he is accompanied by an avatar of Lakshmi.

Meaning of Lakshmi :

Mata Lakshmi is also called 'Shri' which refers to the female energy of the supreme being. The word Lakshmi is derived from the sanskrit that is "Laksya", Meaning 'aim' or 'goal' .

Festival of Goddess Lakshmi :

Goddess Lakshmi is also known as the household Goddess.As most of the Hindu families especially women worship her. Although she is worshipped day to day, the month october is Lakshmi's favourite  month, many puja's chanted to Goddess Lakshmi are celebrated on the full moon night of Kojagari purnima.
